The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC is seeking interested parties for a proposed one (1) year basic with three (3) option years contractual effort for SMP992 additive pellets for the 155mm Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS). MACS is the propulsion system for the Crusader Field Artillery System. Respondents must have the corporate knowledge, expertise and equipment with regard to SMP992 additive pellet manufacturing technology using an aqueous process. Respondents must have all of the requisite production facilities and acceptance testing required for large quantities of SMP992 additive pellet production. The composition shall consist of mainly energetic materials such as nitrocellulose, bismuth, potassium salt and diphenlyamine. The additive pellets shall have the nominal diameter of 0.110-0.200in. and nominal web size of 0.04-0.06in. The quantities required are: FY01 -- 16,500 lbs; FY02 -- 36,000 lbs; FY03 -- 46,000 lbs; FY04 -- 31,000 lbs. Firms with experience in the areas cited above should provide a summary of their company s capabilities including a description of facilities, personnel and past experience to meet this requirement by 8 October 1999.
