PRESOLICITAION NOTICE SUPERCEDES ALL OTHER PRESOLICITATION NOTICES
PERTAINING TO THE PRODUCTION OF THE AN/SLQ-48 MISSION PACKAGE TWO AND
THREE (MP-2 AND MP-3)**The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is
soliciting proposals for the second and third mission package for the
AN/SLQ-48(V) Mine Neutralization System. Mission Package (MP) 2 and 3
are launched, transported, deployed, and under certain circumstances,
recovered by the Mine Neutralization Vehicle (MNV). Both Mine
Countermeasures (MCM-1) and Coastal Minehunter (MHC-51) Class Ships
will be equipped with MP-2 and MP-3 systems to perform mine
neutralization. This procurement involves production of an explosive
section (Mk 14 Mod 1, empty assembly), a safety device (Mk 47 Mod 1),
a primary battery (Mk 141 Mod 1), a battery pack (Mk 142, Mod 0), a
positioning float frame (Mk 6 Mod 0), a bomblet float (Mk 31 Mod 0), a
positioning float (Mk 30 Mod 0), a cable gripping release (CGR) (Mk 52
Mod 0), a conversion kit for the explosive section (Mk 14 Mod1), and a
conversion kit for the firing device (Mk 47 Mod 1). Associated
engineering services are also included. Details are contained in
Solicitation N00024-99-R-6339 which NAVSEA estimates to post on the
INTERNET/WORLD WIDE WEB (WEB) on 22 September 1999. Interested parties

relevant, technical documents also will be established at Indian Head
Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center. Information regarding the use
