70 -- LIGHTSPEED PURCHASE, MAINTENANCE AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICES Refer to LIGHTSPEED99. The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Lightspeed Software, 1800 19th St.,Bakersfield, CA for purchase of additional licenses, the renewal of annual maintenance on current licenses and technical support, involving configuration, installation and training for the following proprietary licensed software products: Lightspeed's NVS, Lightspeed 32bit Windows option, Lightspeed LAN, Lightspeed SCSI option, and Lightspeed Multi-Card option. Annual Maintenance shall be required for at least one year. Technical support services shall be provided as required, based up installation schedules at the various State Disability Determination Services (DDS)Offices. SSA has Lightspeed software products currently licensed and installed on various WANG VS mini-systems located in the State DDS's around the country. As the original manufacturer of Lightspeed NVS and its options, Lightspeed Software is considered to be the only source for the Annually renewable software maintenance agreements and installation and configuration services. Interested parties must respond to this notice by October 1, 1999. SSA has only been able to identify one source capable of satisfying its needs. Therefore, if no other responses are received, or if responses received are unable to satisfy SSA's mandatory requirements as detailed above, SSA shall issue a sole source award under FAR PART 13.5 Simplified Acquisition-Test Program for Certain Commercial Items to Lightspeed Software of Bakersfield, CA for the requirement as cited herein and future purchases and support of Lightspeed software as required. Responsible organizations possessing the requisite expertise and resources are invited to submit information concerning their pricing, capabilities, experience, and other pertinent data (including GSA contract information) . Any literature, or information submitted as a response to this notice, must contain enough information attesting to the capability of a product offered to meet SSA's requirements.
