Name/Medical Laboratory Automation Inc./Beckman Coulter Inc.,
Distributer or Equal; to upgrade from two MLA 1600 to 1800 Coagulation
Analyzers and two MLA Barcode Readers to include all the reagents and
consumable supplies; for the Clinical Laboratory, Department of
Pathology at Brooke Army Medical Center; Fort Sam Houston, Texas. A
Firm-Fixed contract will be awarded as an Indefinite Delivery
Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) for a one year base period starting on 01
October 1999 through 30 September 2000, with 4 option years. Item

Upgrade equipment hardware and operating system; Software and
installation within sixty (60) days of their issuance or date of first
commercial availability. Training for equipment will be conducted on
site at Brooke Army Medical Center. The initial training will be
provided twice per year, and once per year thereafter. The contractor
will provide routine equipment maintenance for both MLA 1800's. Service
is included in the cost of the equipment rental and will be provided 24
hours a day, 7 days a week to include holidays. The solicitation will
be issued on or about 16 September 1999 and will close at 2:00 P.M.
Central Standard Time on 24 September 1999. This procurement is
