This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The requirement is for a 3.6 GSPS Digital Bit Error analyzer which contains both the pattern generator and the analyzer. The special requirement is for analysis of the error characteristics of the channel under test. Real-time as well as recording and playback of the analysis session is to be provided. For these requirements the following items are needed: One each -- 3.6 GSPS Pattern Generator and Error Location Analyzer, Synthesys Research Part No. BA3600 (Specifications attached); One each -- IEEE488 Remote Control Interface, Part No. BA3600IEEE; and One each -- Error Mapping Analysis, Part No. BA3600MAP. Potential bidders must be willing to stock replacement parts and have a U.S. based repair facility. Delivery must be made by the first week of November 1999 in preparation for the Electronics Radiation Characterization Program testing. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-12. All qualified responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery to GSFC is required within 15 days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9.
