The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a one-year membership in an organization comprised of many member companies from industry and the U.S. Government, which provides resources designed to benefit research and development professionals serving in the semiconductor industry. It is the intent of the Government to negotiate with the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC), in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b), as the only source reasonably available to satisfy the needs of this agency. Members of the SRC have priority access to research results and information from research across the spectrum of semiconductor technologies in order to anticipate and predict those areas where metrology issues may not be adequately addressed. The Government intends to issue a fixed price purchase order. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, the Government will consider all quotations received by the response date of September 28, 1999. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
