This notice summarizes previous changes and provides further information on the Department of Energy (DOE) Albuquerque Operations Office's Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) DE-RP04-99AL66336 entitled, "Transportation of CH and RH TRU Waste." The following is a summary of previous changes: 1) The initial announcement of the effort in the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) required the carrier contractor(s) to acquire shipping containers from directed source contractor(s). This is no longer a requirement. 2) DOE intends to make two awards one of the awards will be a small business set-aside and one will be unrestricted. 3) A pre-solicitation conference will be held in Carlsbad, NM on October 14, 1999. The conference will be held at the Carlsbad Area Office, 4021 National Parks Highway, for the morning session and the tour of the waste handling facility at the WIPP site approximately 25 miles from Carlsbad will be held in the afternoon. Companies on DOE's source list will receive a form to complete for the conference and the site tour.
