the ability to provide secure, residential, contract, juvenile
detention services for male juvenile Federal offenders in Shelby
county, Tennessee are requested to give written notification (including
complete name, contact person, address and telephone number) to the
Contracting Officer listed in this notice. Services are required for
juvenile care, custody, control, accountability and treatment to
include furnishing subsistance, and medical services except the
expenses of hospital, surgical, prescriptions and dental treatment. The
services described shall be provided in accordance with the Federal
Bureau of Prisons, Statement of Work(SOW), "Secure Juvenile Facility,"
dated July 1999. No operation hotel/motel will be considered as an
acceptable facility for this requirement. The estimated number of male
inmate days for the base period of January 1, 2001 through December
31, 2002 is 10,950. The estimated number of male inmate days for the
first option year of January 1, 2003 through December 31, 2003 is
5,475. The estimated number of male inmate days for the second option
year of January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004 is 5,475. The
estimated number of male inmate days for the third option year of
January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005 is 5,475. A
Firm-Fixed-Price-Requirements type contract is anticipated with a two
year base period and three one year option periods. The estimated
issuance date for the solicitation is January 3, 2000. The estimated
closing date for the solicitation is March 4, 2000. All responsible
sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by this agency.
