The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey and the Product Manager for Paladin/FAASV are seeking interested prime contractor sources for the production of six to eight Paladin M109A6 self- propelled Howitzers. The production activities will include fabrication of various chassis modification kits to be used to upgrade the M109A2/A3 chassis to the M109A6 (Paladin) configuration and the fabrication of new turret systems for the upgraded configuration. The contractor will be required to perform both turret integration and Paladin vehicle integration and to provide support for final acceptance testing of the M109A6 Howitzer system. The Government intends to utilize the services of Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) to perform the chassis overhaul/upgrade and to upgrade the gun mounts from the M109A2/A3 configuration to the M109A6 configuration. The upgraded chassis and gun mounts will be provided as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) to the contractor for final vehicle integration and acceptance testing. Interested sources should note that the contractor under this effort will have total system responsibility to insure that the performance and interface requirements of the new howitzers are met. This is a market survey to determine interested sources ONLY. The Government is not required to issue a solicitation based on this request. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED UNDER THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
