The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has a requirement for the acquisition and installation of a diesel engine for a small research vessel located in Gulf Breeze, Florida. The vessel is an aluminum work boat (Surveyor 2608 series) manufactured by SeaArk in Monticello, Arkansas. It is currently powered by a Mercruiser 7.4 liter marine gasoline engine equipped with a Bravo II outdrive. There are two electro-clutch activated hydraulic pumps (two belts each) Located on the forward end of the engine. These are powered by a stacked pulley on the crankshaft. One is a raw water wash down pump (approx. 1 HP); the other pump (10 hp at max. rated epm) operates the boom and winch system on the vessel. The vessel has a raised deck with a stern hatch (46" x 46" opening) above the engine compartment. There are dual fuel tanks located in the midship compartment plumbed through a selector valve located in the wheelhouse. The vessel is on a trailer and can be transported within a reasonable geographic area. This requirement will be issued under simplified acquisition procedures. This is Not a small business set-aside.
