S -- - NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL-INSTITUTE FOR MARINE BIOSCIENCES. Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with the National Research Council-Institute for Marine Biosciences for the Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC). Purpose of contract is to process high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) samples for paralytic shellfish toxins. Dr. Bricelj at the NRC is a leading authority internationally recognized in the area of phytoplankton-bivalve interactions. Dr. Bricelj has worked over ten years in this area and has recently completed a comprehensive review on the transfer and fate of toxins in bivalves. Dr. Bricelj only known investigator in this area of specialty in the international arena who is able to work on this collaborative project. Dr. Bricelj at the NRC was identified as a subcontractor to function under the research proposal "ECOHAB "Mechanisms and Control of Toxin Accumulation in Shellfish."
