13 -- AMMUNITION-9MM AND .45 CALIBER SOL No solicitation DUE 121799 POC Linda White, Contracting Officer, 410-278-2998/FAX: 410-278-2980 The Research, Development & Acquisition Office, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is seeking to identify potential souroces who can provide 9mm and .45 caliber ammunition for military training purposes. The requirement is for a commercial off-the-shelf ammunition that canm be fired by unmodified pistols of the specified caliber for use during training exercises. It is desired that the ammunition be a low-penetrating, frangible-type round that cannot penetrate the second of two (2) .5" thick pieces of plywood spaced 6" apart when fired from a weapon no less than one (1) meter from the first sheet of plywood. This notice is not to be considered a solicitation; no solicitation exists. All responses received by the government by the response deadline will be reviewed to determine what firms have 9mm and/or .45 caliber ammunitiono that meets or exceeds the foregoing requirement.
