Research Center is seeking qualified small businesses, small
disadvantaged business, which also includes those that are women-owned,
HUBZone small businesses, and 8(a) firms capable of performing
Design/Fabrication/Installation of a new microprocessor based, solid
state electronic synchronous motor starting system (ESMSS) to co-exist
with the existing variable frequency motor generators that are
currently in the building. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS; THEREFORE, DO NOT
REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION. In order to ascertain the method of
procurement for the ESMSS outlined above, qualified small businesses,
small disadvantaged, HUBZone, women-owned small businesses, and 8(a)
firms are invited to submit a "CAPABILITY STATEMENT" to the NASA Glenn
Research Center. Information to be provided shall include name and
address of firm, size of business, average annual revenue for the past
3 years and number of employees; ownership, whether the business is
small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HubZone, or woman-owned, number of
years in business, affiliated information: Parent Company; Joint
Venture Partners, Potential teaming Partners, Prime Contractor or
Sub-Contractor and list of customers covering the past five years. The
Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for this procurement is 1731 and $7
million respectively. CAPABILITY STATEMENTS SHALL ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING
TECHNICAL ITEMS; 1) Design and Technical experience with 15 Kvolt, 3600
RPM motors with inertial compressor loads; 2) Drive and major hardware
to be of current production design; 3) Design and Technical experience
with furnishing, installing and testing 15 Kvolt circuit breakers,
cabling, and protective relay instrumentation; 4) Design and Technical
experience with hardware and software for automated control and
programmable logic controllers. Capability statements shall be no
longer than 6 pages in length. Capability statements should be
submitted on later than December 13, 1999. This synopsis is for
information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a
commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for
information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results
of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be
considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. The
Government reserves the right to consider a small business, HUBZone, or
