States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Farm Service Agency in the
Kansas City Management Office is seeking firms with the ability to
supply a warehouse inventory management system that facilitates the
receipt, distribution, and management of stock items stored at the USDA
warehouse. The system shall be able to: 1. Run on Windows 95, 98, and
NT platforms. 2. Access Lan/Wan/Voice, either dial-up or dedicated
frame relay access, using TCPIP protocol. The Warehouse Inventory
Management System shall: 1. Accept on-line orders from remote sites and
create pick tickets. System should have ability to handle requests from
an estimated 3,000 customers, at least 25 simultaneously. Customers
will place orders online. 2. Provide multiple levels of security as
appropriate for different users. 3. Accept download data from an
integrated portable hand held bar code reader. 4. Convert unit of buy
to unit of issue. 5. Issue items with serial numbers sequentially,
enter returned items back into inventory, and reissue in the next
order. 6. Issue items first in-first out. 7. Adjust inventory
concurrently as items are received and issued and notify user when
minimum stock level is reached. 8. Track transactions that correspond
to received and issued items. 9. Allow multiple stock numbers (at least
2 levels). The first level shall be a minimum of 13 characters.
10.Identify items by lot number, shelf life, and location in the
warehouse. 11.Generate ad hoc reports. 12.Maintain customer address
list (customer ID and location) and interface with other name and
address files. 13.Maintain archive and history files. 14.Maintain
mini-warehouse inventory. 15.Provide export capability. 16.Search or
view items and their location in the warehouse. 17.Track items by lot
number and shelf life. 18.Determine minimum stock levels. 19.Assign
warehouse item number. 20.Call up line items by requisition and
purchase order number. 21.Sort by serial number and/or warehouse item
