This is a special notice being used by Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC), management and operating contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS) near Aiken, South Carolina. The purpose of this notice is to determine public interest in the WSRC developed Multi-Layer Contaminant Migration model. This software program is a one-dimensional, infinite source, analytical vadose zone contaminant transport model with a mass-balance limit that calculates key fate and transport parameters. The program recognizes the heterogeneous nature of the soils and attempts to account for the variability by using up to four separate layers to simulate the flow of water through the vadose zone. The software is variable in that it will allow the user to simulate unsaturated flow with 1 to 4 different layers. WSRC is seeking parties interested in licensing this software program and selling it as a commercial product. Responses to this notice must be submitted no later than January 11, 2000.
