J -- NUCLEAR MEDICINE EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE SOL RFP 573-2000-18 DUE 010420 POC Susan Little or Tami Drake, 904-755-3016, ext. 2095 or 2096 This is a notice of intent of the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System, Lake City Division, 801 S Marion Street, Lake City, Florida, to negotiate sole source with GE Medical Systems to furnish all labor, tools, equipment and supervision to provide preventive maintenance service contract, in site service and complete system upgrades on Elscint Xpertpro and Varicam Gamma Camera Nuclear Medicine Equipment and components. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302 and FAR Part 12. The authority sited and justification made is based on the determination that the government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source for this equipment. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by January 5, 2000. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received on or before 1/4/2000 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
