DESCRIPTION: The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis a contract for Construction of Four Passive Integrated Transponder Tunnel Monitors for Lake Washington Ship Canal Smolt Passage Section 1135 Restoration Project with Biomark Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The contractor will be required to construct and install a two coil, aluminum shielded PIT tag reader on the outfall of each of the four smolt passage flumes to located at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, LWSC. The PIT tag detector tunnels will be attached to the end of the smolt passage flumes in order to monitor PIT tagged smolts migrating between the Lake Washington Ship Canal and Puget Sound. See Note 22. This Solicitation will be issued on as an Electronic Bid Set (EBS) on CD-Rom format only. EBS CD-Rom disks with plans and specs available on or about 7 January 2000 at no charge per set. EBS CD-Rom disks will be issued on a first come, first served basis until supply is exhausted. No phone requests accepted.
