The General Services Administration has a requirement for scheduled certificated U.S. airlines to provide passenger transportation services, Governmentwide, for approximately 6,000 domestic/international airport pairs. The requirement-type contracts will be for one year beginning OCT 1, 2000, and include one 2-month and one 1-month option periods. The contracts are solely for the movement of passengers and are used by almost all Federal agencies and various other authorized users. They do not require travel agent services and do not include any role for travel agents. Air carriers who are not currently approved by the Department of Defense (DOD) must, prior to award, have appropriate Federal Aviation Administration certification, adequate insurance, and be approved by DOD based on successful completion of a technical safety evaluation including an on-site survey (audit) by DOD. Carriers who are otherwise eligible must also participate in the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) program.
