conducting a vendor's forum in order to obtain information in support
of an upcoming procurement for transportation of Tritium Producing
Burnable Absorber Rods (TPBARs). The forum is scheduled for February
17, 2000, 9:00 a.m. at the Comfort Inn Hotel, 433 South Rutgers Avenue,
Oak Ridge, TN. The purpose of the forum is for the vendors to exchange
information with the Government representatives. The forum will
include both group and individual discussions relative to development
of a solicitation. The U. S. Department of Energy's Office of
Commercial Light Water Reactor (CLWR) Production was established by the
Secretary of Energy in November 1995. In December 1998 the CLWR was
chosen to be the technology for the production of tritium for the U. S.
nuclear weapons stockpile. This technology involves the irradiation of
TPBARs in commercial power reactors. The commercial power reactors to
be used for production of tritium will be the Tennessee Valley
Authority's (TVA) Watts Bar Nuclear and Sequoyah Nuclear plants.
Transportation services are required to ship the irradiated TPBARs from
the TVA facilities to the Tritium Extraction Facility located on the
