Herting The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) is seeking actuarial services for benefit determination, valuation, and administration in defined benefit pension plans. The services sought include, but will not be limited to, the following: (1) To determine PBGC-payable benefits and calculate their present value under Title IV of ERISA; (2) To perform estimated cutbacks of benefits to levels allowed under Title IV of ERISA; (3) To prepare plan summaries, data element listings, and standardized abstracts of plan documents; (4) To prepare standardized benefit listings, automated benefit statements, benefit worksheets, and benefit recalculations; (5) To generate transaction files for transfer to PBGC's paying agent; (6) To review work previously performed for the plan sponsor and reconcile it with the termination valuation; (7) To review previously processed cases; (8) To assist in benefits administration; (9) To provide litigation support in actuarial matters; (10) To value liquidations and annuitizations; (11) To develop training materials and present courses; (12) To perform actuarial studies of defined benefit pension plans; (13) To develop and document software to assist in the items above; and (14) To provide other actuarial assistance related to pension plans as required. The period of performance for the base contract will be from date of award to September 30, 2001, with four one-year options for renewal at PBGC's discretion.
