17 The MLC Atlantic intends to issue a purchase order for commercial
_off-the-shelf_ Centrifugal Pump Units for the 270_ WMEC Class Coast
Guard Cutters. The MLC intends to conduct this procurement in
accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 12,
Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for
Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as
a best value Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 8 February 2000. The
RFQ will be issued via the Electronic Posting System (EPS) at
www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the RFQ will not be issued. It is incumbent
upon contractors to monitor the EPS system for RFQ release and all
subsequent amendments. This procurement is unrestricted. The standard
industrial classification code is 3561 _ Pumps and Pumping Equipment,
and the small business size standard is 500. The RFQ will be issued as
an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) purchase order with
a base year and four one-year option periods. A minimum guaranteed
amount will apply in the base year. Subsequent option years will not
have a guaranteed minimum. The number of units purchased will not
exceed 30 units over the life of the purchase order. The item to be
procured is a Pump Unit, Centrifugal, size 4_x3_x9-1/2_, vertical,
close couples rated for 500 gpm of seawater at 280 feet total discharge
head. All bronze construction with 150 # ANSI flange connection
(4_suction and 3_ discharge), a mechanical split seal with an abrasive
separator made of 316 SS in the seal water line, with 316 SS seal
flush line, and a 75 horsepower continuous duty, 3500RPM, 440 VAC
3-phase, totally enclosed fan cooled marine duty motor. The motor shall
be a NEMA C-face JPV shaft motor for use with vertical in line pumps.
The motor shall be in accordance with IEEE 45 and 46 CFR 111.25. The
motor shall be provided with grease lubricated bearings, a drip cover,
lifting eyebolts or lugs and a 120 VAC single phase anti-condensation
strip heater of at least 139 watts. The impeller shall be keyed to the
shaft and held securely in place by a 316 SS impeller screw and washer.
The pump shall be equipped with a 316 SS shaft sleeve. The pump must be
compatible with existing piping system without making modifications to
the existing system. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and

Transportation (DOT) Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working
capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts
receivable for transportation related contracts. Maximum line of credit
