Head, 252-464-7615 SOURCES SOUGHT MARKET RESEARCH ONLY. The Naval
Aviation Depot, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, NC has a
requirement for equipment, consultation, services and training to
implement various integrated predictive maintenance (PdM) technologies.
The PdM technologies shall include instrumentation and equipment,
integrating off-the-shelf advertised software, on-site and off-site
consultation, manpower support, and training. The request relates to
the following seven (7) technologies: (1) Vibration Analysis; (2) Fluid
Analysis; (3) Corrective Toolkit, Balance and Laser Alignment; (4)
Integrating Predictive Maintenance Software, Mastertrend Software; (5)
Induction Motor Current Analysis; (6) Ultrasonic Inspection; and (7)
Infrared Thermography. The NADEP is in search of single vendor sources
of specific products and services relating to Best Business Practice
(Maintenance). The PdM technologies application will be on general
industrial equipment and plant assets. It is requested that information
be provided in four (4) sections: instrumentation/equipment/software
package; services/consultation package; training package; and,
integration package. The instrumentation package shall describe in
detail all instrumentation, equipment, software, services, consultation
and training offered from the single vendor source. Standard literature
highlighting the salient specifications and features will suffice.
Software should highlight its integrating features of the other PdM
technologies. The services/consultation package shall be arranged in
three sections: initial, startup and continuing. The initial
services/consultation section shall describe the vendor's services/
consultation offerings to industry that is beneficial prior to
implementing the listed PdM technologies. The startup
services/consultation section shall describe the vendor's
services/consultation offerings to industry that is beneficial during
the implementation of the listed PdM technologies. The continuing
services/consultation section shall describe the vendor's
service/consultation offering to industry that is beneficial after
implementation of the listed PdM technologies. The training package
shall include all training on-site/off-site offered by the vendor. A
description of each training offering shall be included along with how
each training offering leads to operator certification in the
respective PdM technologies. The training package shall include shall
include a description of operation/certification programs. The
integration package shall include a description of the vendor's ability
to integrate the PdM technologies instrumentation/equipment/software,
service/consultation, and training. The integration package shall
highlight how each element is to function together to achieve desired
results critical in implementing a successful PdM effort. The products
and services are to be commercially available, off-the-shelf,
ready-to-sell, and currently advertised for sale in the commercial
marketplace. The government is not interested in new-to-the-marketplace
or prototype equipment and systems. The government is targeting these
PdM technologies to support the following goals: (1) Increase
availability of specific production equipment to support our increasing
production efforts; (2) Increase reliability and readiness of specific
production equipment to support our production demands; (3) Reduce our
time to repair for specific production equipment; (4) Diagnose root
cause of equipment failure for purposes of failure prevention; (5)
Optimize maintenance planning efforts to schedule and coordinate
equipment repairs with our production efforts; (6) Reduce the need to
maintain and store critical and expensive repair parts; (7) Ability to
maintain adequate equipment fitness in support of our facility's
mission; (8) Reduce our corrective maintenance expenditures by
minimizing catastrophic failures; (9) Reduce unscheduled downtime for
critical production equipment; (10) Optimize existing Corrective
maintenance (CM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) efforts. The types of
equipment targeted for application of the PdM technologies are various
air compressors, vacuum pumps, grinding machines, milling machines,
boring machines, dynamometers, cooling towers, electrical distribution
systems, steam distribution systems, etc. Although not our primary
focus for this effort, application of the technologies to troubleshoot
problems with various aircraft components is probable. NO SOLICITATION
EXISTS AT THIS TIME. This request is for information only and is
intended to identify companies capable of providing the PdM
technologies described herein. When responding, reference Announcement
#M00146-00-Q-1001, provide the company name, point of contact,
telephone and facsimile numbers, Internet address, business size and
specific information and literature regarding your capabilities. THE
GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS
SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT OR TO OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION
REQUESTED HEREIN. Questions regarding this announcement shall
beforwarded to Mr. Steve Ellis (252) 464-7615. Written responses to
this announcement shall be forwarded to the Contracting Officer, Supply
