into negotiations to award a contract for the items has not been
received and funds are not currently available. The Naval Undersea
Warfare Center Division Newport, Newport, Rhode Island, seeks sources
for a quantity of 12 or more Navy Aero 16B or Air Force D-7A bomb
shackles in working condition. The Navy Aero 16B(Dwg. 53A39H3) and Air
Force D-7A(Dwg. 48A3H1) bomb shackles were made/used in the 1940's and
50's. Their hook spacing is 30 inches and their rated capacity is 4000
pounds. Hook locking and release is controlled by a manually operated
trip lever. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center has tech pamphlets with
figures, exploded views, and operation/maintenance procedures. Contact
