Reed, (206) 526-6034, for copy of solicitation call (206) 5266425 The contractor shall provide an adequate number of certified weather observers to monitor the weather conditions at Desert Rock Observatory (DRA) in North Las Vegas, NV on a part time basis. These people are required to take meteorological observations (surface, low level, and upper air), record and evaluate data, and disseminate required data. Monitor an automatic lightning detection display system (ALDS) for cloud-to-ground lightning on the NTS. The observer uses ALDS, ASOS, AFOS, and the NTS meteorological monitoring network (MEDA) to prepare and issue weather forecasts for NTS and Tonapah Test Range. Also uses the ARL/SORD meteorological Alert Data Distribution System (MADDS)to issue forecasts and climatological data. All Observations must be taken at the prescribed time and in accordance with the WMO. This procurement will be conducted as a Request for Proposals and is 100% set-aside for small business.
