This sources sought synopsis is to request information required prior to release of any resultant solicitation. This is not a request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government in the award of a contract. The estimates are based on the best information available. The information is subject to modification and is in no way binding on the Government, and more specific information relating to the services will not be furnished until the proposed acquisition is synopsized in the CBD, or the solicitation is issued. The Louis Stokes Cleveland, Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio is seeking sources capable of providing Health Care Services for an Autopsy Assistant, on a procedure basis, Monday through Sunday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The Government estimates twelve (12) procedures per year. The Autopsy Assistant shall be required to provide services only during periods when the VA staff Autopsy Assistant is on authorized absence, vacation or any other time when an autopsy is required for which the VA staff Autopsy Assistant is unavailable. The Autopsy Assistant shall have specialized experience equivalent to one (1) year of work as an Autopsy Assistant, morgue attendant, surgical assistant or embalmer's and have knowledge of the human anatomy, skill in using surgical instruments and knowledge of aseptic techniques or six (6) semester hours in courses such as biology, human anatomy, physiology or zoology which included laboratory work.
