purchase of (QTY 1 EA) Upgrade of EDAM IIs to a Phoenix 10, Part No.
PV8106/10 and PV8050/00. (QTY 1 EA) EDI to EMIA cable, Part No.
5335.008.07550. (QTY 1 PACKAGE) Phoenix-Auto-ZAF, Automated multipoint
analysis, Part No. PV8052/00. (QTY 1 PACKAGE) Phoenix-Lscan software,
Part No. PV8052/50. ITEM DESCRIPTION: Instrument upgrade under FY '00
FWG, items 1,4,5. Item 3, required to make system work. Note 1.
Upgrade is to an EDAX EDAM II, B/C 9930C, S/N 207/01, EDAX # 100-240;
L1230, Bldg 4600, HR 181. Note 2. The EDAM III (Phoenix system 10)
upgrade shall physically replace the existing EDAM II (pulse processor
unit). Note 3. The Phoenix system is an integrated high speed pulse
processor unit and a CPU unit, operating O/S NT 4. Note 4. The existing
analysis system will be retained and dedicated to image analysis.
Upgrade is required to be able to perform line scans, differential spot
analysis, and high speed -- high resolution elemental mapping. The
upgrade will allow quantative elemental data generation, storage and
output in a non-proprietary format. System is to interface with an
ElectronScan Model 2020 ESEM and the existing EDAX LEAP detector. The
workstation configuration must meet or exceed the above requirements
for both hardware and software. Available power is 110 VAC @ 60 Hz. The
Army Research laboratory has found no other source and this instrument
upgrade is not know to exist anywhere else. Inquiries will only be
