"The work involves the renovation of 9,600 SF of existing office and storage space to new work areas, classrooms, and support facilities. This project will consist of work in the areas of concrete placement, metal wall panels, doors and frames, interior demolition, tile floors, latrines, kitchen casework, fire alarm, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, telecommunications, and interior painting." Any resulting contract will require performance and payment bonding. Award of a firm fixed-price contract is anticipated. The estimated construction cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. This action is being considered for 100% set-aside for HUBZONE small business concerns. Interested HUBZONE small business concerns should indicate their interest to CPT Bruce Walton, in writing, not later than 30 May 2000. As a minimum provide a positive statement of your intention to submit an offer as a prime contractor, evidence of experience in similar type work and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contact with telephone numbers. This information must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on the availability of interested HUBZONE concerns. The plans will tentatively be available for inspection without charge o/a June 13, 2000 at the Delaware Contractors Association, 527 Christiana-Stanton Road, Newark, Delaware. Performance period is 120 calendar days from the date of receipt of the Notice to Proceed. A solicitation package will be tenatively available o/a 21 June 2000. There will be a charge for the package. The amount of the charge will be identified in the request for sources announcement in mid June timeframe. Tentative bid opening is o/a 03 August 2000. Optional project site visit is tentatively scheduled for 13 July 2000, at the Delaware Air National Guard Base Building 2803.
