The U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (SAYPG), Arizona intends to negotiate and award a contract on a sole source basis to United Fire Equipment Company, 335 North 4th Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85705 for twenty-five (25) each MSA XTREME 4500 psi self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), MSA P.N. F-CM50500-1M127-0; and twenty (20) each MSA STEALTH spare cylinders, MSA P.N. 807588. United Fire Equipment Company is the sole authorized dealer in Arizona for MSA fire service equipment. The new MSA SBCA units are in addition to existing MSA SBCA units currently being utilized at the USAYPG. The additional units must be compatible and inter-changeable with the existing MSA SCBA equipment. Interested parties may submit technical literature showing their capability of meeting the Government's requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
