The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service has announced plans to purchase ready-to-cook broiler/fryer chicken products (frozen cut-up chicken, frozen cooked batter/breaded chicken, chilled small and large bulk pack chicken). The frozen cut-up chicken, in eight pieces, and the cooked batter/breaded chicken are for preparation and consumption in their present form by recipients. Bulk packed chicken will be purchased for delivery to a processor and is for conversion to products in accordance with a contract with recipients. Bids are accepted every second and fourth Monday of each month until program requirements are met. In addition, small businesses (500 employees or less) are encouraged to participate.
