of Technology Vendor Meetings for the ETV Source Water Protection
Pilot. Meeting dates: June 28 and 29, 2000. Meeting Location: North
Carolina State University. Description of Pilot: NSF International (Ann
Arbor, MI) is partnering with US EPA National Risk Management
Laboratory (Edison, NJ) and US EPA Office of Research and Development
to accelerate the commercialization of improved environmental
technologies that protect source water from contamination. The ETV
verification process stresses third party testing using technically
sound protocols and appropriate QA/QC, in addition to third party
review of data and reporting of technology performance. ETV provides
purchasers, permitters, and technology manufacturers with objective,
quality assured data on technologies. The purpose of the Vendor Meeting
is to being together manufacturers of animal waste treatment
technologies to explain the Environmental Technology Verification
Program and discuss the key issues of the protocols under development.
The focus of the June 28 meeting will be solids separation
technologies. The focus of the June 29 meeting will be aeration
technologies. The ETV Source Water Protection Pilot is working together
with North Carolina State University and the Animal and Poultry Waste
Management Center to develop protocols in the animal waste treatment
area. Meeting participants will be provided with details about the
benefits and responsibilities of participation in the ETV Program.
Input from the vendor community regarding the protocols and the
verification process will be encouraged. A block of rooms is being held
at the Brownstone Hotel (1707 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC). To
reserve a room at the group discount rate ($69.00 per night), please

until June 13, 2000. Please inform the hotel reservationist that you
will be attending the "EPA/NSF ETV Animal Waste Treatment Vendor
Meeting" to ensure the discount rate. After June 13, rooms will be
bookedon a space and rate availability basis. The dress code for the
meeting is business casual and it is open to anyone interested in
learning more about the ETV Program. Vendors should feel free to attend
either one or both days of meetings, depending on their company's
interests. Lunch will be served both days. For planning purposes, NSF
