Chemical Biological Advance Planning Briefing for Industry September
19-21, 2000 Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD -- Edgewood Area Event #037
The U.S. Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command (SBCCOM) will
host a DOD Chemical Biological Advance Planning Briefing for Industry
(APBI) on September 19-21, 2000 at the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen
Proving Ground, MD. The APBI will be immediately followed by an
Independent Research & Development (IR&D) Conference on
Chemical-Biological Science and Technology. Advanced Planning Briefings
for Industry (APBIs) are held annually to keep the industrial base well
informed concerning future requirements. The APBI will include details
on the Joint Service mid- and long-range research, development, test,
engineering (RDT&E) plans and programs, future production projections,
and emerging military doctrine. These briefings are designed to
identify specific contract opportunities over the next 5 years and are
open to all potential contractors to include large and small business,
universities, etc. The Independent Research & Development Conferences
(IR&D) will provide companies with an opportunity to present
information on their internally funded research and development
programs as they relate to Chemical Biological defense before a panel
of Department of Defense experts. Each company will be given 30 minutes
-- 20 minutes for their presentation and 10 minutes for questions and
answers. The confidentiality of each company presentation will be
protected. Immediately following the Conference, each participating
company will be provided technical review and feedback regarding their
presentation. Who will Attend? Attendees will include representatives
from industrial and government organizations working in the chemical
biological arena. Agenda topics will cover all aspects of traditional
military chemical and biological defense and chemical demilitarization
as well as non-traditional areas such as domestic preparedness.
