Directorate (J9) of United States Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) has a
requirement for a Collaborative Workspace Suite that will provide a
variety of collaboration functions for the Directorate to work in
synchronous and asynchronous collaboration with internal staff and
external distributed experimentation partners. The collaborative tool
will be hosted on the USJFCOM unclassified network, but may eventually
be used on the classified network as well. Specific functionality
desired of the tool includes the following: audio conferencing,
whiteboard, document storage, document version control, document
sharing, application sharing, text chat and virtual conference spaces.
The product must support various file types including images, text,
audio and video. Specific design principles include ease of use for the
end user, open systems environment (OSE) compliant architecture,
scalable to support up to 500 concurrent users in multiple
collaborative sessions, and integratable into the existing
infrastructure of USJFCOM, which at present is NT 4.0 operating system.
In addition, the product should be extensible to add further
functionality in the future as may be required by the Directorate.
Vendors who respond should include comments regarding technical support
provided during testing and implementation as well as training provided
to system administrators and end users. In addition, the government
requires product specifications, hardware and software requirements,
bandwidth requirements, company history and a list of customers and
points of contact who are now or intend to be using the product. This
request is for information only. Industry is requested to identify
features or performance requirements in the specification that may
incur unwarranted cost or schedule risk. In addition, the
identification of requirements that should be added to the
specification is also encouraged. As industry may expect to see
portions of submitted information in future solicitations, no
proprietary information should be submitted. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT
INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED. No entitlement to
payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will
arise as a result of the submission of industry information. The
Government shall not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages
for any proprietary information not properly identified. Proprietary
information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable
Government regulation! s. In addition to the above information, you may
submit information regarding existing contracts where the products and
services you offer are available, i.e. GSA or other contract vehicle.
Interested parties are requested to submit a one page statement
demonstrating their capability to perform the services listed above,
provide information regarding their manpower resources, previous
projects, and experiences with this type of effort. Comments should be
