THE USGS ANTICIPATES AWARDING THE PURCHASE ORDER TO Mount Sopris Company, Golden, CO. This item is required for geophysics work on the New York City Water Tunnel Project. In addition to compatibility with the project's existing Mount Sopris system, this is the only known geophysical instrument company offering the full waveform sonic probe that propagates both compressional and shear waves into the rock formation. The MGX II console, motorized portable winch, and peripheral modem are required to operate the Full Waveform tool. WellCAD and the Full Waveform Sonic Module for WellCAD are required to plot and analyze the data collected with the Full Waveform tool. The Heat Pulse Flowmeter is compatible with the project's current operating system, but is also capable of measuring ver low flow rates (0.03 gal/min). Mount Sopris is the only company that makes an Operational Heat Pulse Flowmeter. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; no formal RFQ will be available..
