99 -- CLEANING, ELECTROPLATING, ANODIZING AND SURFACE TREATMENT PROCESSES REQUIRED FOR SHIP COMPONENTS. SOL N62678-00-R-0158 DUE 080900 POC Priscilla Tarr, Contract Specialist, (757) 396-5041 ext 456 Provide cleaning, electroplating, anodizing, and surface treatment processes required for ship components for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. The electroplating process will include miscellaneous plating work, zinc plating, chrome plating, cadmium plating, and silver plating. The plating facility must have the capability to silver plate electrical bus bars (8'LX6"WX6"H). The lifting capacity for 95% of electroplating work is minimal; however, the remaining work requires the contractor to lift large components. Lifting capacity of the electroplating facility should be 6,000 pounds. The contractor will be responsible for transportation of products to and from their facility. Approximately 20% of the work will be considered emergent work and will require work to begin within 24 hours or less. For non-emergent work, work is required to begin within 48 hours or less. This solicitation will be comprised of a Lot I for electroplating of several different metals and a Lot II for silver plating only. Contractors may submit a proposal for both Lots or only one Lot. This will be a firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract for one year with options for four additional years. This is a Best Value Procurement utilizing Past Performance, Technical, and Price as evaluation criteria.
