Officer, 605-226-7567 Q -- The Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service is
soliciting for a contractor interested in providing coordination of all
aspects of a Special Diabetes Program for Indian patients, by a
physician, under a grant to the Rapid City Indian Health Service
Hospital, Rapid City, South Dakota. The goal of the Diabetes Program is
to move from a reactive posture of treatment of identified Diabetes to
a proactive posture of prevention of developing Diabetes along with
treatment of identified Diabetes Mellitus and its complications. The
offeror must possess a specialized knowledge of the concepts,
principles, and practices of Family Practice or Internal Medicine such
as is obtained through the successful completion of a course of study
leading to the Degree of Medicine of an approved medical school. The
offeror must also have completed postgraduate training, residency
training, specialty board certification, and have at least five (5)
years experience working with patients diagnosed with Diabetes
Mellitus. The medical staff of Rapid City IHS Hospital will credential
the offeror who is awarded the contract. The position is a half-time
position utilizing twenty hours per week to coordinate the grant for
Diabetes Mellitus Management. The period of performance will be for a
12 month base year, with two additional option years. Requests for
