Q -- ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY SERVICES FOR THE FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTER, LEXINGTON, KY SOL RFQ 123-0042-0 DUE 072600 POC Michelle Davy, Regional Contract Specialist 606-253-8892 The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award a nonpersonal service contract to the individual or company best qualified to provide quality orthopedic surgery services to Federal inmates housed at the Federal Medical Center, Lexington, KY. This procurement is 100% set aside for small business. Duties include but are not limited to: provide care on a non-discriminatory basis to include ancillary services, hospital inpatient, and/or outpatient services or medically necessary professional services as appropriate which cannot be provided at the FMC. When it is not possible to perform these services on site, the contractor shall utilize local contract hospitals. It shall be necessary for the contractor to have full privelages at one or both of these hospitals. The contractor shall provide diagnostic evaluations, recommend treatment, and perform outpatient orthopedic injections at the FMC facility. Requirements include: Contractors office shall be JCAHO accredited, contractor shall have full privelages at one or both of the two contract local hospitals, Contract physician shall be a graduate of an AMA approved medical school with current state license to practice medicine, and shall be board certified in general surgery. The work schedule shall consist of two sessions per month with a session defined as four hours. Total work hours shall not exceed 30 hours per week. This will be a non personal service contract and not a personnel appointment. The contract period shall include a base year, not to exceed 12 months, and 4 one year option periods. The anticipated solicitation date is June 8, 2000, with an anticpated due date of July 26, 2000.
