The specification covers the necessary services,labor, material,equipment and control components required to modify an existing pallet conveyor system, which services an existing AS/RS called Stackman. The contractor shall provide all necessary materials, labor, and engineering required to retrofit the existing conveyor system to provide pallet retrieving and stowing capabilities for a system which is approximately twenty years old and currently can only process full pallet stows and issues. The contractor while retrofitting the existing system shall provide all maintenance services on the existing AS/RS cranes, transfer car system and conveyor system to make the entire system completely operational, and capable of meeting the performance parameters of this specification. The contractor shall also retrofit the existing crane control system to interface with Government supplied DSS/ECS software system such that the cranes shall perform retrieving and stow operations based on communications from the Government host computer. The conveyor system shall be retrofitted as shown on DDC drawing 00-3-1.
