The Naval Research Laboratory's Naval Center for Space Technology is
seeking sources to provide product information on a high-accuracy,
two-axis gimbaled positioning mount for star tracker sensor laboratory
testing. The star tracker sensor will be mounted on the gimbaled
system with the sensor's boresight perpendicular to one of the gimbaled
axis. In addition, the mount's line-of-sight will always be aligned
with the sensor's boresight. General characteristics of the mount
desired are listed. Capability of supporting a payload weight of 5 Kg
with a payload size of 150(L) x 150(W) x 150(H) mm; Line-of-sight
position accuracy should be less than 1 arcsecond. This includes all
errors introduced by the mount such as axis wobble, thermal effects,
and mechanical misalignments; Velocity range: 0.0 to 5.0 deg/sec;
deg/sec^2; Azimuth and elevation travel range: -20 to +20 degrees.
Responses are requested by 6/12/00. Questions concerning this request
for information should be directed to Gil Dutchover at NRL, Code 8231,
