PRESOLICITATION NOTICE RELEASE The Air Force Research Laboratory Biomechanics and Acceleration Branch anticipates awarding a contract to provide the professional engineering and technical support, materials, equipment, and supplies required to operate, maintain, modify and develop a set of specialized laboratory facilities. The Air Force Research Laboratory's Biodynamics and Acceleration Branch mission includes conducting research and development to define human and manikin responses and tolerances to stresses encountered during aircraft emergency escape and survivable crashes, and to develop advanced concepts for aircrew protection. The anticipated effort will also provide the engineering and technical support required to conduct human experimentation and other research and advanced development test programs using those facilities. The period of performance for this acquisition is anticipated to be 1 Oct 2000 -- 30 Sep 2001. Four one-year options may be awarded. This proposed procurement is a full and open competition. This acquisition will be a non-commercial acquisition. See Numbered Note 26. This solicitation will be issued electronically. NO HARD COPIES WILL BE ISSUED FOR ANY REASON. The Request for Proposal (RFP) and Statement of Work (SOW) will be posted on the ASC Pre-Award Information Exchange System (PIXS) web site at: http://www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil. Draft solicitation documents will be posted for comments prior to solicitation issuance. The solicitation will be issued approximately 19 July 2000. Once the solicitation has been posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review this site frequently for updates to the documents.
