The objective of the Deepwater Capability Replacement ( Deepwater) Project is to acquire an integrated system of surface, air, and C4ISR, that will optimize life cycle costs and provide the Coast Guard with the capability to achieve mission success safely and cost effectively. Phase 1 of the Deepwater project was awarded under full and open competition. Awards were made to three teams to develop concepts for an Integrated Deepwater System (IDS). Included in the Phase 1 solicitation was a notice to offerors that the Coast Guard intended to select up to three of the Phase 1 teams to participate in Phase 2, where they would submit proposals with refined designs and costs to provide the IDS. The Coast Guard intends to issue the Deepwater Phase 2 Request for Proposal restricted to the three Deepwater Phase 1 teams, the RFP will result in contract award to provide and support the selected IDS.
