Work consists of repointing the East Wing's north and west walls, repointing the wall surfaces directly behind the downspouts located at the East Wing's south wall, and the repointing of the West Wing's south and west walls of Independence Hall. Contractor shall be required to remove and reinstall the sheetmetal downspouts to permit the repointing of the entire wall. This will alleviate moisture problems caused by the deterioration of mortor joints in the wall and will reseal the bond that the mortar makes with the brick. See numbered note number 1.
