BoBo, (202) 307-1940 The Department of Justice, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures, FAR Part 13, intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Sheryl Kabat, of ST. Paul, Minesota for services in the furtherance of the Districts Weed & Seed (W&S) Program. The position will work out of the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Minnesota (DMN) located in Minneapolis and will participate in the necessary planning, development, coordination and implementation of the required community resources applicable to the ten DMN Weed & Seed initiatives. The contractor will;( 1)participate with community organizations,local citizens, law enforcement agencies and local government agencies in the W&S communities in the development and implementation of coalitions which will mobilize strategies conducive to realizing program goals,(2)participate with city, county, state and federal agencies in the development of partnerships with community organizations,in identifying available resources for purposes ofplanning, development and implementation of strategic plans for the DMN/W&S communities,(3)participate in the development of strategic plans,coordinated community efforts and strategies based on comprehensive effort for addressing the problems of crime,social services and economic development and (5) participate in monitoring existing and future Department of Justice Programs funding awarded to the DMN/W&S sites while assisting in identifying additional federal resources to supplement and enhance DMN/W&S efforts. The period of performance will be for one year, July 1, 2000 -- June 30, 2001. This notice is for informational purposes only. Responses received as a result of this notice of intent, shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
