The USAMC Acquisition Center, Natick Contract Division, in support of the U.S. Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command, Soldier Systems Center (USA SBCCOM SSC), Natick, MA, intends to conduct negotiations and award a purchase order to Seamtek International on the basis of other than full and open competition in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation part 6.302-1. This acquisition involves the procurement of a SmartSeal Welding System that consists of the following components: Advance AP Control System; Quick Army Configuration; Pedestal Configuration; Articulating Hot Air System; Advance SP Control System; Sidearm Configuration; Tape Delivery System. Seamtek is the only known producer of a multifunctional welding system that has the ability to weld various substrates to each other with computer controlled heat, pressure, and time to ensure a proper seal each time it is used. This system will include two to three days of on-site training. The system will also include a one year system and parts warranty as well as a maintenance/service contract.
