Z -- REPLACE HVAC SYSTEM SOL RFP 546-21-00 DUE 080800 POC Lucille A Kaper, 305-324-3301 Furnish labor, material and equipment necessary to remove and replace air-handling unit, heat recovery unit and indicated induction units in patient rooms in Building One at the VA Medical Center, 1201 NW 16th Street, Miami, Florida in accordance with plans and specifications. Work is primarily mechanical but does include electrical, utility systems, architectural and asbestos removal. The general contractor is responsible for the proper disposal of all demolition and construction debris. The estimate cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The SIC Code is 1542; Size Standard is $17.0 Million. This acquisition is unrestricted under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. A small business-subcontracting plan will be required if a slated contractor is a large business concern prior to award of contact. This solicitation will be issued on a best value basis with technical and price proposals required. Technical proposals will be evaluated on the factors listed in the solicitation and will include past performance in similar work, technical ability, and project schedule. Bidding materials will be restricted to one set per contractor and will be on a "first come first serve basis". A total of 50 sets of bidding materials will be available. A non-refundable amount of $100.00 for bidding materials required in the form of a check, i.e. company, cashier or money order. Note: No Personal Checks will be accepted. Checks must be addressed to the Contracting Officer and made payable to the VA Medical Center, Miami, Florida. Bidding materials can be obtained at the issuing office or by written application. Written application shall be in the form of the company's letterhead, which includes the company's name, address, office telephone and FAX number, and a contact person. Solicitation package will be issued o/a July 19, 2000. A pre-proposal conference will be held on August 8 at 10:00 AM.
