This solicitation is amended to revise effort from a new work modification to a new contract with Raytheon Company, Electronic Systems, El Segundo, CA to enhance the Firefinder AN/TPQ-47's battlefield performance associated with reporting Tactical Ballistic Missiles(TBMs). The new capabilities will be incorporated into the three (3) Engineering Development Models(EDMs). The capabilities for reporting TBMs will be added into the test plan and tested during the Independent Operational Test and Evaluation (IOT&E) of the EDMs. Research Development Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) funds will be utilized. This is a Sole Source acquisition, authority cited is 10 U. S. C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(b)(1) "Only One Responsible Source", as Raytheon Company is currently developing the AN/TPQ-47 in response to a performance specification.
