This proposed procurement is for a Requirements Contract to convert gasoline and diesel powered vehicles to compressed natural gas ("CNG"). GASOLINE: Vehicles to be converted will be fueled primarily by CNG and secondarily by unleaded gasoline. This effort shall include providing and installing all components necessary, including CNG cylinders, for proper drive ability, performance, safety shielding, and compliance with the State of California Certification, CNG cylinder certifications, and the acceptance of the converted vehicle by the Government. The Contractor shall provide training covering the installation, operation and maintenance of the conversion system. DIESEL: Vehicles to be converted (re-powered) will be fueled by CNG. This effort shall include removing existing engine and fuel systems that are not compatible with CNG power and providing, installing new engines and all required systems and components necessary, including CNG cylinders, safety shielding, State of California Certification, CNG cylinder certifications, and the acceptance of the converted vehicle by the Government. The Contractor shall provide training covering the installation, operation and maintenance of the conversion system. Removed engine and unused components shall be returned to the Government. WARRANTY: The Contractor shall warranty each conversion, (workmanship, equipment failures, parts and labor) for a period of 5 years or 50,000 miles. Delivery orders will be issued by Base Motor Transport at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California for one base year plus four option years, commencing before fiscal year-end 2000.
