J -- DEPOT REPAIR OF REPAIRABLES OF FOUR(4) WEAPON BORESIGHTING EQUIPMENT SOL N68335-00-R-0441 DUE 072800 POC Beverly Walker (732)323-7565 The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ has been tasked to initiate a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) with Photronics,Inc. The purpose of this BOA is to procure the supplies and services necessary to accomplish Depot Repair of Repairables (ROR) -- labor and material necessary to inspect, test, calibrate, repair, modify, restore, and/or return to ready-for-issue condition; including preservation, packaging, packing, and marking, of the A/U36M-1 (V) Weapon Boresighting Equipment, major assemblies, Special Support Equipment, and/or subunits thereof. DRS Photronics, Inc. is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the A/U36M-1(V) Weapons Boresighting Equipment. The Navy procured the system as a non-developmental item. The measuring systems (transmitter and receiver), the adapters, fixtures and all factory equipment are proprietary items and no rights or drawings were procured. DRS Photronics, Inc. is thoroughly familiar with, and has possession of, all drawings, tooling, and the expertise required for this effort. The A/U36M-1(V) Weapons Boresighting Equipment has a limited number of unique components and processes of which DRS Photronics, Inc. has the data rights. The government did not procure the data rights. It would not be cost effective or possible for the government to provide to another contractor, the data that pertains to the A/U-36M(V) or the knowledge and experience that resides at DRS Photronics, Inc.
