Modernization includes removing and replacing two (2) passenger elevators at the US Courthouse & Customhouse, Toledo, Ohio. Provide Phase I and Phase II elevator recall operation in accordance with Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators, ANSI/ASME Standard A17.1 _ 1996 edition. Incorporate a new hard-wired elevator smoke detection system. The system shall include a control panel, smoke detectors, waterflow detectors, and heat detectors. Incorporate a means to automatically disconnect the main line power supply to the affected elevator prior to the application of water (elevator machine room(s) and associated elevator pit(s)). Incorporate _Seismic Mode_ software. Remove existing freight elevator and associated machinery. Provide new concrete access ramp to the basement level. Install new air conditioning system for elevator equipment room. Install new power feeds to the elevator equipment. Install new emergency generator and enclosure for back-up power to elevators. The contract also includes preventative maintenance for these elevators. Performance period is for a base one year with three one-year option periods. Offers will be accepted from both large and small business concerns. The SIC code is 1799, and the small business size standard is $7 million. The estimated cost is between $400,000 to $600,000.
