Presolicitation notice to furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to replace the existing Culvert Crossing No. 1 in the vicinity of the Headquarters Building. Demolish and remove the existing Crossing No. 2 (railroad car crossing) north west of the Mumm Lateral. Build up the east Chicago Ditch bank/berm in order to construct a new 17-foot wide service road that is one mile in length. Replace the existing headgate at the Mumm Lateral, Unit T Lateral, and No Name Lateral on the Chicago Ditch and install a new corrugated metal pipe culvert from each new headgate structure through the east bank of the ditch, which serves as the existing service road. Construct a new culvert crossing near the New Ditch and Closed Basin Canal. Approximate location of specific work sites are referenced in the contract drawings. The project is located at the Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge in Alamosa and Costilla Counties, Colorado. The solicitation will be issued on or about August 15, 2000. Performance period is 120 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Work is scheduled for completion during this calendar year. Acquisition will be open to large and small businesses. Estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. There is no charge for solicitation documents. Plans will be available for inspection without charge at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 134 Union Blvd. Suite 140, Lakewood Colorado 80228 upon issuance of the invitation for bid.
