Officer, 309-782-3506 DESC: The U.S. Government is soliciting for
commercial contractors for the purchase of 16 breathing-air compressors
for use by engineer divers. The air compressor system is used to supply
breathing air simultaneously to two working divers, a safety diver, and
a recompression chamber. The system is used to supply breathable air to
the working diver and safety diver to depths of 250 feet of seawater
(fsw) with an overbottom pressure of 135 pounds per square inch, gage
(psig). The air compressor is skid mounted, air-cooled, diesel
engine-powered with an output of between 44 and 50 cubic feet per
minute (cfm) at a pressure of no less than 300 psig. The system shall
operate no less than 4 continuous hours on its self-contained fuel
supply. The compressor shall operate on diesel and JP8 fuels, have a
volume tank of no less than a 60 gallon capacity, and meet the
requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.430 and the requirements in the
Purchase Description 387B, dated 25 July 2000. All air pressure gages
shall be panel mounted. The maximum overall weight of the compressor
system including the frame, skid, and hoses shall not exceed 3900
pounds. The system must be transportable by all military means,
including air transport. FOB is Destination. Estimated issue date is 2
Aug 2000. This solicitation will be issued electronically in
accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore

issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them
prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may
render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection
